Avid Treasurers
The reason I love making treasuries, is that it enables me to share with you a world of unique wares with just the click of a button. The cross section of items you can find in a related theme allows you to cut through all the work and find exactly what you want (or didn't know you wanted).
My latest treasury features fellow members of the Avid Treasurers team, and all gifts are under $25. They're colorful, cute and cool and I think there is a good cross-section of items to suit everyone's taste.
The item that popped out at me in this treasury was the chololate buttons from The Frosted Petticoat. Please check out their mouth watering treats @ http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheFrostedPetticoat for chocolate with a dash of whimsy. You'll literally feel like a big kid in a candy store. Have you ever eaten a chocolate moustache or a lifelike painted beetle? Well, now you can cross that off your bucket list. You'll find a really great selection of items including chocolate hats, masquerade masks, keys, cameos, musical instruments and so on and so forth. Colorfully presented and exquisitely created, it's almost a shame to eat them.

Naked Branches
So, yesterday I was trying to come up with a topic, word, color or just anything, anything at all that could be used to make an Etsy treasury and as usual my poor old brain was pretty devoid of inspiration (I account this to 5-6 years of poor quality sleep thanks to motherhood). Anyway, I was looking forlornly out of the window at the bare Elm trees lining our downtown street, thinking that they looked exactly the way I felt, and admiring how a light dusting of snow made them look so very beautiful in all their plainness and.... Voila! I had the inspiration for this treasury!
I absolutely love that you can simply type a search word into Etsy and the treasure trove of items that appear before you kick your preconceived notions in the teeth, make your jaw drop and arouse your curiosity in products that you never knew could exist to the point that an hour later you have clicked your way through a labyrinth of the crazy, the artsy and the just plain cool.
Case in point - when I saw the Clutch Purse Log (featured below) from Random Intent I was intrigued; I had never seen another purse like it, (although being a mom of two little girls, I don't get out all that much) and I couldn't help but smile; not just at it's absolute cuteness but also the ingenuity and craftsmanship that went into the design. If you are looking for a unique hand-made gift, that is the sort of one of a kind items you will find on Etsy. With all that being said, you can see why it's sometimes hard for me to stay focused, but here is what I came up with after picking my "branches" themed treasury and I hope you find something here that arouses your curiosity and makes you click.
