Naked Branches

So, yesterday I was trying to come up with a topic, word, color or just anything, anything at all that could be used to make an Etsy treasury and as usual my poor old brain was pretty devoid of inspiration (I account this to 5-6 years of poor quality sleep thanks to motherhood). Anyway, I was looking forlornly out of the window at the bare Elm trees lining our downtown street, thinking that they looked exactly the way I felt, and admiring how a light dusting of snow made them look so very beautiful in all their plainness and.... Voila! I had the inspiration for this treasury!

I absolutely love that you can simply type a search word into Etsy and the treasure trove of items that appear before you kick your preconceived notions in the teeth, make your jaw drop and arouse your curiosity in products that you never knew could exist to the point that an hour later you have clicked your way through a labyrinth of the crazy, the artsy and the just plain cool.

Case in point - when I saw the Clutch Purse Log (featured below) from Random Intent I was intrigued; I had never seen another purse like it, (although being a mom of two little girls, I don't get out all that much) and I couldn't help but smile; not just at it's absolute cuteness but also the ingenuity and craftsmanship that went into the design.
